Planetary Transit

Mercury's transit 2019

Date
Type of Phenomenon
Planetary Transit

On November 11, 2019, a transit of Mercury can be seen from Catalonia.

The transit will begin at 12:35 a.m. (13:35 official time). In Catalonia, it will not be possible to see it coming to an end because the sun will already be released.

Warning:

To don't create great expectations for the public, we have to warn that Mercury traffic is a discreet event. The fact that Mercury is so small means that we can't see it without a telescope, and the length of the transit implies that the movement of the planet will only be appreciated if it is observed for a while. You should not expect the spectacularity of other astronomical phenomena such as the Sun or Moon eclipses.
