Time is not what it seems
This article presents a brief introduction to the physical concepts of time and space for non-specialized readers. Placing special emphasis on the origin of the arrow of time, it reviews these concepts in relation to the ideas arising from our perception of the world and the common wisdom it gives rise to, which is at the basis of the classical physical viewpoint of time and space. It then describes how the classical concepts have been modified, first by the theory of special and general relativity and later by current quantum physics.
