The Cosmos Science Institute proposes an observation with a telescope accompanied by the theoretical explanation of the phenomena.

It will be distributed as follows:

  • Half-hour of traffic observations, directly and by projection, with the telescopes Located in front of the Palau Reial, in the Diagonal of Barcelona.
  • Half-hour of a theoretical session of the phenomena of planetary transits, and in particular of Mercury's, in the faculty of Physics, by astronomers of the ICCUB.

The people and groups that register will be distributed in one hour sessions from 13:00 to 16:00h (official time). The groups will be of a maximum of 25 members.

The activity is free and registration is required. CLOSED REGISTRY.

If you are interested in doing the session in English let us know.

Warning:

To don't create great expectations for the public, we have to warn that Mercury traffic is a discreet event. The fact that Mercury is so small means that we can't see it without a telescope, and the length of the transit implies that the movement of the planet will only be appreciated if it is observed for a while. You should not expect the spectacularity of other astronomical phenomena such as the Sun or Moon eclipses.
