The Institute of Cosmos Sciences will take part in the 26th edition of Science Week from November 12 to November 21 with a varied offer of activities and talks. Here’s the events programme with all our proposals:

 

TOC-TOC TALK: «SPACE IN CINEMA: FICTION AND REALITY»

We will make a comparison between the conquest of space portrayed in films and the scientific reality of space exploration.

PUBLIC OBSERVATION OF THE MOON WITH A TELESCOPE’S SESSION AT LA VERNEDA

In this activity, we will have the chance to closely observe our satellite and identify its most remarkable features (such as seas, craters, etc.) in a telescope’s session at the borough of La Verneda, Barcelona.

WORKSHOP: «3D CONSTELLATIONS AND A VIRTUAL WALK THROUGH THE GALAXI WITH GAIA»

One of the most characteristic constellations of our sky is Orion. In this workshop you will build a model of Orion in three dimensions considering the position and distance among each of its stars. Afterwards you will enjoy a walk through the Milky Way with the help of the Gaia Satellite and discover how Orion appears from different points of view.

26th Science Week

The Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation is organising the 26th Science Week from November 12 to November 21, 2021.

Science Week is open to the general public and it aims to bring science and technology closer to all citizens and foster scientific careers among the young people.

In this context, communities are organising a wide range of activities all around the country: talks, exhibitions, scientific workshops… A scientific offer in different formats for everybody!
