Next February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This day wants to increase the visibility of the contributions, not properly recognized on many occasions, of women to science.
Although great strides have been made towards gender equality in trecent decades, there is still a long way to go. At the end of 2020, the percentage of female researchers in Spanish universities in the area of physics was around 22%, a proportion that decreases as you advance in your academic career with 14% of professors. (Report Las físicas en cifras: Universidad, 2015-2020, prepared by the specialized group "Women in Physics" of the Real Sociedad Española de Física).

To celebrate this year's edition, the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the UB invites you to attend the theatre play  "Dialogue on the nature of the Universe, with the participation of eminent astronomers of the modernist era ” on Monday, February 13. After the play, we will enjoy a round table to discuss topics such as the origins of cosmology, the participation of women and gender biaess in science.
