The Astronomy Infrastructure Network (RIA) presents the publication "Astronomy. A Prospective Study". The publication, in which ICCUB researchers Francesca Figueras and Blai Sanahuja have participated, is a report on the cosmology of the next decade, initiated and coordinated by astronomer Jordi Torra.
The RIA wanted to coincide the publication with Jordi Torra's birthday, the celebration of St. George's and the International Book Day. The publication is a study about the Spanish astronomy, in which 28 astronomers have participated. It is organized in four parts; Cosmology, Galaxies, Stars and the Solar System.
Jordi Torra was a professor in the Department of Quantum Physics and Astrophysics, a researcher at ICCUB and the leader of the Spanish team of the Gaia mission. He was also the director of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (2015-2017) and the RIA's coordinator until 2017.
Here you can see the act of homage that was held in his honor last February at the Faculty of Physics.
