The ICCUB-IEEC researchers Maria Monguió and Mercè Romero-Gómez will participate in the activity Astronomy in the foothills of Montserrat next Saturday, July 17.

In this event, participants will have the opportunity to perform several astronomical observations using a telescope in one of the most magical locations of Catalonia, the mountain of Montserrat. The presence of the two astrophysicists will allow participants to learn and discuss different notions of astronomy such as: How do astronomers measure the distance to the stars? What is a black hole? How is a star born? How does it die? What causes stellar motion in the sky?

The gathering is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the summer night sky in a unique placement.

The activity depends heavily on sky visibility, therefore it might be subjected to modifications due to adverse weather conditions.
